Now you can search resorts across the world, get trading information and manage your exchange accounts with RCI and II, all on your mobile device. You won’t have to buy either application, as they are free in each of their respective app stores. The RCI application is quite robust, and offers many features. You are first greeted with a splash screen giving you 4 main options: Resort Directory, RCI TV, RCI SnapBook, as well as Account Alerts.
The Resort Directory allows you to browse the wide selection of affiliated resorts, and you can bookmark or favorite them as you go. You can compare resorts, which is a great feature that, to my knowledge, isn’t offered on RCI’s Website. This feature allows you to look at resorts side by side and compare locations as well as resort amenities. You can choose to email yourself a copy of the resort, or even share the resort with your friends on Facebook.
The RCI TV feature has reviews, walk-throughs and other videos profiling the resorts offered. I quite enjoyed this feature, it adds a greater depth to the resorts that can’t be attained by pictures and text. Also the RCI SnapBook is a great way of viewing pictures of resorts and nearby amenities. They have also included account alerts to show you all the major notifications of your RCI account.
All in all this is great way to scope out trading options and information on the go. There really is no match for calling in, and speaking to their live representatives, but these mobile applications will offer you a much easier, fluid experience navigating the resorts. In my own opinion, the iPhone application was easier to navigate than RCI’s actual full-blown website.
