Location
As the whale-watching capital of the Oregon Coast, Depoe Bay provides you a date with Mother Nature. Visitors can view the gray whales by shore observation spots or on chartered boats which run every hour, weather permitting. Take in the sunsets, romantic walks and fine dining while enjoying gorgeous views of the ocean and rugged coastline. If water and weather cooperate, you could be lucky enough to see the Spouting Horns – spouts of water 60 feet high caused by building pressure under the lava beds.
Take advantage of great fishing, forests, and tide pools, and be sure to make time to see the gray whales that frequent the area 10 months out of each year. Don’t miss the “Class Wooden Boat Show and Crab Feed” in April or the “Fleet of Flowers” each Memorial Day.
